As we are always asked for suggestions for places to stay in Turkey and Rhodes (Greece) we are adding a new collection of boutique hotels that we would recommend. If you are travelling to Turkey one option is to fly into Rhodes and take the daily ferry to , a journey time of 1 hour 15 mins. The accommodation listed below is in Rhodes Old Town we believe it is the perfect stopover if you have time for some additional nights at start or end of your sailing holiday.
An amazing hotel in the heart of the Old Town of Rhodes. The building has been restored with love and care over a period of time by the owners, who opened the doors to their first guests in March 2015.
We visited in June this year (2016), stepping off the ferry from Marmaris we followed the directions given, after a short walk found ourselves at the entrance to this boutique hotel. We received a very warm welcome sitting in a shaded courtyard. Within minutes we found ourselves being served fresh filter coffee, home-made lemon cake with milk chocolate icing & a delicious selection biscuits all home-made.
It was so interesting to learn of history of how this property was restored from a ruin back to its full glory. We were given a tour of the house and suites. We understood how important it is to them that their guests have the best possible time during their stay. They want “their guests to find themselves in the house they wished they had’, a home away from home. To enjoy every day spent with them and return as quickly as possible.”
Behind the Red Door you will find yourself in the main entrance to the hotel with its cool interior, stone walls and grand piano. Through the first arch is the lounge, dining area and open plan kitchen. The beautifully decorated lounge is the perfect place to relax and read the literature available to you about Rhodes and the surrounding islands including Simi, Halki & Turkey!

This beautiful hotel offers a choice of five luxury suites. Four suites can accommodate 2 to 4 people and one larger that can sleep 5. Each suite varies slightly however they all have the same relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.
Katina Suite located on the first floor and has an area of 48 square metres. It features a fireplace in the living room. The suite has a spectacular double bed. It accommodates 2 to 4 guests. From the south windows you can see the castle wall and part of the Old Town, while the northern ones overlook our garden. The huge bathroom has a freestanding bathtub and a shower cabin with a hydromassage column.
Sailinturkey is a Company based in Adakoy Marina Marmaris, a very beautiful and safe mooring for yachts in Turkey. The company is totally owned and managed personally by ourselves, Mark Foster and Stephanie Williams. Mark was the Turkish Country Manager then the Manager for Europe for Sunsail for many years and Stef became the Turkey Country Manager again for many years.
