Meet the base staff and settle onto your chartered yacht. You will find all the usual facilities: toilets/showers, electric & water on the dock
You will be given a full technical briefing about your yacht, after which you are able to set off for your sailing holiday. If you are not in a hurry you can stay for a night in Marmaris dining at one of the many restaurants in town.
Facilities at Marmaris:
The staff will try to get you onboard and out sailing as soon as possible. If that is the case Ciftlik is a good choice as it is approximately 12 nm from Marmaris (2 hours under motor) it gives you time to learn about your yacht and enjoy a great sail on the way.
Azmak Restaurant, CiftlikA pleasant sail with winds picking up in the afternoon, ‘My Marina’ restaurant is one of your options for overnight, situated on the hill with stunning views over the bay of Ekincik. It is quite a hike up to the restaurant so do make sure you have your camera with you as you probably will not feel like going back down for it.
Facilities at My Marina:
From here you may choose to take a 1/2 day or full day tour on a typical Turkish boat. You will pass a long sandy beach which is a nature reserve for loggerhead Turtles, if you are lucky you might seven see some turtles. From there you will travel up the Dalyan river through the reed beds, visiting the ancient site of Caunos and viewing the Lycian Tombs set high on the hillside. With restaurants lining the river, this is the place to take a tranquil lunch. Other interests are a swim in the fresh water lake or the mud baths which claim to make you look 10 years younger! (?)
Ancient City of Caunos
Probably the most famous photo overlooking the bay of Kapi Creek. Renowned for their hospitality and fresh home-cooked food, the friendly staff will hand you a lazy line on their wooden jetty. Fantastic for swimming and relaxing. Another ideal location after a good day’s sailing.
A short walk above the restaurant on a good clear day will reveal stunning views across the bay of Fethiye.
Facilities at Kapi Creek:
The lively town of Fethiye, a 10 minute walk from the new marina, is great for shopping and sightseeing. Behind the town are the Lycian Tombs and amphitheatre.
We advise booking a mooring at the Yacht Classic Hotel as they have such great facilities and are just a 10 minute walk from the centre of town. they offer a better deal on mooring if you dine in their restaurant in the evening.
Another option many clients enjoy is choosing their own fish in the market with a restaurant next door who will prepare & cook it for you. Whatever you do with an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants this is a great contrast to the quietness of the bays in Skopia Limani.
Facilities at Yacht Classic:
If you want to see more inland, Fethiye is a good place to visit the Saklikent Canyon or the deserted Greek village of Kara Koyu.

Day 5 – Sarsala, Turkey (12nm)
Back to peace and tranquility, with crystal clear waters for swimming and hammocks for relaxing. A beautiful setting with tables set on the terrace overlooking the bay.
Once again you can enjoy the hospitality of this family run restaurant and taste the house specialty – Turkish Pide.
Facilities at Sarsala:
Unmarked on any charts, this small bay offers a great lunch time stop en route from Skopia Limani to Marmaris. An ideal overnight anchorage if you wish to dine on board. The crystal clear water makes this a fantastic for swimming.
A new restaurant opened here in June 2016 with jetty, however that changes annually so you cannot count on it!
An alternative bay is Gerbeske to the south of Ciflik. No facilities just beautiful, clear turquoise waters and tranquility. Drop an anchor and enjoy this bay.
After refuelling in Netsel Marina help will be on hand to assist you mooring on the dock.
If you haven’t visited the town of Marmaris now is the time. You can wander around the Old Town, visit the castle and shop til you drop in the bazaar, selling “genuine fakes”. You will find a huge variety of restaurants to choose from or street food if you wish to eat on the go.
Delicious Turkish cuisine on the Town Quay. You can choose your mezes from their covered cold display unit and follow up with fresh fish or one of their traditional dishes for main course. It is very popular with locals so you will need to reserve a table to avoid disappointment.
If you have been missing Indian cuisine this is the place for you. The chef is from “Bradford” apparently famous and the food is amazing. Dining is outside on the roof terrace.
If you take a bus to Netsel Maria then it is a 20 to 30 minutes walk along the promenade. A vibrant, lively atmosphere, great food at good prices this is a fun place to enjoy the view over the Bay of Marmaris.
Just because your yacht charter has finished does not mean that your holiday has ended, we can make lots of suggestions for you to enjoy your last day.
One suggestion is to take a taxi (or Dolmus) to Joya Del Mar just outside Marmaris – 15 mins taxi ride. A fabulous hotel in a quiet location it is an idyllic place to spend some time with great food, a swimming pool and spa with its own white sandy beach. They will keep your bags in reception whilst you enjoy your day.
