Bareboat Yacht Charter & Sailing Holidays in Turkey

Sailing Holidays in Turkey

1 Week Sailing East

Day 1 – Arrive Adakoy Marina, Marmaris

Meet the team and settle onto your chartered yacht.  Along with all the usual facilities: toilets/showers, small market, electric & water on the dock you will also be able to hook up to free WiFi and enjoy the hotel facilities.  You can swim off the dock or in the 30m swimming pool or you may prefer to order a  refreshing cold drink & snack in the Sail Bar & Restaurant overlooking the bay of Marmaris.

We will give a full briefing of the sailing area and assist with any special requests.   Once we have given the technical briefing about your yacht you are able to set off for your sailing holiday or, if you are not in a hurry enjoy dinner at the restaurant in the marina.

Facilities at Adakoy:

  • Free mooring for Sail in Turkey Yachts
  • Water & electric on the dock
  • Restaurant & Bar
  • Free WiFi
  • Toilets & showers
  • Swimming Pool
  • Beach
  • Market
  • Credit card accepted

As we do try to get you onboard and out sailing as soon as possible Ciftlik is a good choice as it is approximately 12 nm from Marmaris (2 hours under motor) it gives you time to learn about your yacht and enjoy a great sail on the way.

Azmak Restaurant, Ciftlik

 Day 2 – Ekincik, Turkey (19nm)

A pleasant sail with winds picking up in the afternoon, ‘My Marina’ restaurant is one of your options for overnight, situated on the hill with stunning views over the bay of Ekincik.  It is quite a hike up to the restaurant so do make sure you have your camera with you as you probably will not feel like going back down for it.

Facilities at My Marina:

  • Water & electric on the dock
  • Restaurant
  • Free WiFi
  • Toilets & showers
  • Beach
  • Credit card accepted

From here you may choose to take a 1/2 day or full day tour on a typical Turkish boat. You will pass a long sandy beach which is a nature reserve for loggerhead Turtles, if you are lucky you might seven see some turtles.  From there you will travel up the Dalyan river through the reed beds, visiting the ancient site of Caunos and viewing the Lycian Tombs set high on the hillside. With restaurants lining the river, this is the place to take a tranquil lunch. Other interests are a swim in the fresh water lake or the mud baths which claim to make you look 10 years younger! (?)

Ancient City of Caunos

Day 3- Kapi Creek, Turkey (27nm)

Probably the most famous photo overlooking the bay of Kapi Creek. Renowned for their hospitality and fresh home-cooked food, the friendly staff will hand you a lazy line on their wooden jetty. Fantastic for swimming and relaxing. Another ideal location after a good day’s sailing.

A short walk above the restaurant on a good clear day will reveal stunning views across the bay of Fethiye.

Facilities at Kapi Creek:

  • Free mooring for Sail in Turkey Yachts
  • Restaurant
  • Free WiFi
  • Toilets & showers
  • Cash Only

Day 4 – Fethiye, Turkey (12nm)

The lively town of Fethiye, a 10 minute walk from the new marina, is great for shopping and sightseeing. Behind the town are the Lycian Tombs and amphitheatre.

We advise booking a mooring at the Yacht Classic Hotel as they have such great facilities and are just a 10 minute walk from the centre of town.  they offer a better deal on mooring fo you eat in their restaurant.

Another option many clients enjoy is choosing their own fish in the market with a restaurant next door who will prepare & cook it for you.  Whatever you do with an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants this is a great contrast to the quietness of the bays in Skopia Limani.

Facilities at Yacht Classic:

  • Mooring fee (discounted if you dine in the hotel restaurant in the evening)
  • Water & electric on the dock
  • Restaurant & Bar
  • Free WiFi
  • Toilets & showers
  • Swimming Pool x 2
  • Spa
  • Credit card accepted

If you want to see more inland, Fethiye is a good place to visit the Saklikent Canyon or the deserted Greek village of Kara Koyu.

Saklikent National Park

Day 5 –routeplan Sarsala, Turkey (12nm)

Back to peace and tranquility, with crystal clear waters for swimming and hammocks for relaxing. A beautiful setting with tables set on the terrace overlooking the bay.

Once again you can enjoy the hospitality of this family run restaurant and taste the house specialty – Turkish Pide.

Sarsala located in the beautiful Skopia Limani bay area. It is the best sailing are.

Facilities at Sarsala:

  • Free mooring for Sail in Turkey Yachts
  • Restaurant
  • Free WiFi
  • Toilets & showers
  • Cash Only

Day 6 – Asi Koyu, Turkey

Unmarked on any charts, this small bay offers a great lunch time stop en route from Skopei Limani to Marmaris.  An ideal overnight anchorage if you wish to dine on board.  The crystal clear water makes this a fantastic for swimming.

A new restaurant opened here in June 2016 with jetty, however that changes annually so you cannot count on it!

An alternative bay is Gerbeske to the south of Ciflik.   No facilities just beautiful, clear turquoise waters and tranquility.  Drop an anchor and enjoy this bay.

Day 7 – Return to Marmaris (24nm)

Meet up with fellow sailors at the base and swap sailing holiday experiences from your holiday.  All of the hotel facilities are available to you: swimming pool, fitness centre, toilets & showers, watersports centre…

Freshen up and enjoy a evening at Adakoy Hotel restaurant overlooking Marmaris.

Marmaris

If you haven’t visited the town of Marmaris there is a regular water taxi service which is a great way to head into town. You can wander around the Old Town, visit the castle and shop til you drop in the bazaar, selling “genuine fakes”.  You may choose to stay for the evening with a huge variety of restaurants to choose from or street food if you wish to eat on the go.

Day 8 –  Departure Day

Just because your yacht charter has finished does not mean that your holiday has ended.  Adakoy Hotel is a great place for a final day.  Relax around the large swimming pool or enjoy the water sports available including water skiing, wake boarding or hire a SUPs for an hour or so.

If you like nature you take a walk to the caves through the National Park to Nimara Caves – A short walk up the hill behind Adakoy, steep in some parts and you will arrive at a look out station giving fabulous views over the bay of Marmaris.

If you drop down the other side you will get to Nimara Caves, a point of interest.
