Summer 2014, Sail in Turkey decided that it would be wonderful to video all of the beautiful anchorages & bays in our cruising area so you could visualize the stunning scenery you can expect see on your charter in Turkey. Armed with GoPro camera attached to the high tech Drone, Mark, his son & daughter with my Father planned a great day of filming starting in Serce Limani, traveling along the coast back to Marmaris. There had been many practice days gaining confidence to fly the Copter and there was great excitement at the prospect of filming for real. On reaching Serce Limani it was decided that the winds were too strong to safely get it in the air so the first plan was aborted.
Next stop was the recently built Phoenix Beach located near to Sogut. Traveling by road was an experience in itself with just a dirt track leading to the restaurant. They were wowed by the scenery & location plus it was quite sheltered compared to Serce Limani. They set up the equipment on the brand new sundeck in front of the restaurant surrounded by crystal clear waters & took charge of the controls, as you will see the rest, as they say, is history………
We hope you enjoy this short video, we can assure you no-one was hurt during, or after, filming although there were a few glum faces for the rest of the day. The drone has since been replaced and we will be adding new videos to our website (with less underwater shots) throughout 2015 so keep checking for updates.
