Bulgarian Beer company Zagorka chartered a yacht from us with a skipper for competition winners. The charter was for 1 week & the planned route was to sail West of Marmaris, visiting Serce Limani, Sogut, Sailors Paradise, Bozburun, Bozukkale and Ciflik before returning to Marmaris.
Stefan & Veneta were the lucky winners and arrived in Marmaris last week. Their skipper David Vincent met them from their private transfer from the airport & they dined together at the Pool bar in Netsel Marina. The following morning they stocked up the yacht with provisions for the week and with great excitement they left Marmaris and headed to Ciflik. They loved the warm welcome from Engin and his staff at Azmak and enjoyed swimming & relaxing on the beach before dining in the restaurant watching the sun go down.
The following day they set sail for Bozukkale with Stefan, who had never sailed before, taking the opportunity to helm Ipomea with guidance from the skipper. Another great day and relaxing evening at Sailors House with Mustafa the host. Unfortunately the weather forecast was for strong winds and thunderstorms at the end of the week, which meant we had to rethink their plans & not sail quite as far as we had hoped. We this in mind they enjoyed a day sailing to Bozburun and for the first time since leaving Marmaris enjoyed the facilities of a small town: shops, barbers, cafes & restaurants, ATMs, etc.
Due to the forecast this was to be their last stopover before heading back to Marmaris, where they made the most of shopping in the bazaar and wandering around the town stopping in various cafes and taking in the views.
