/07 : Arrived Dalaman to find bag had not arrived with our flight!  Nightmare as it contained everything from swim gear to clothing to suntan lotion!  After delay reporting it missing used Sail in Turkey transport to Marmaris.

IPOMEA in excellent condition & sparkling clean.  Stef & Mark very helpful in trying to trace bag, to no avail! Comprehensive briefing form Mark & tips on anchorages & restaurants around 10 day trip.  Slept Well!

/07 : Set off after impressive help from Marina rib as marina channels very narrow.  Anchored for lunch in KARDIGA LIMANI!  Beautiful until gullet arrived playing music @150 decibels!  Onward to CIFLIK for 1st port.  Very pleasant stay & peaceful!

/07 : Motored to SERCE & used mooring of restaurant with line ashore established by CAPT NEMO who kindly did the mooring up with line.  He picked us up to take us ashore to eat.  Excellent meal although a little expensive by Turkish standards.  No menu & prices but delightful anchorage.

/07 : Left early after delicious Turkish bread delivered by CAPT NEMO who detached our line from shore.  Decided to sail to ORHANIYE giving us a chance to retrieve our suitcase!  No wind so stopped in DIRSEK for welcome swim & lunch!  Beautiful place!  Mark in constant touch about suitcase (holdall!)  Most impressed by sail in Turkey.  Could not be more helpful!  Still little wind so motored to Cennet Yacht Club in ORHANIYE.  Wind suddenly got up making mooring difficult, but eventually on pontoon successfully.  Yacht not the easiest to run astern with a strong beam wind!  Wonderful showers (clean) & pool.  Holdall found!  Delivered to sail in Turkey & Mark arranged for it to be sent to ORHANIYE!  Fantastic service!  Delicious food at restaurant & great service.  Recommended!

/07 : Kids enjoyed pool for morning & sailed 14:50 for SELIMIYE.  Berthed at AURORA restaurant & treated ourselves to their special lemon with mint & ice – Glorious.  Special little town with at least 3 supermarkets to stock up.  Excellent dock at AURORA.  V. hot but refreshing breeze in cockpit with our bimini & awning.  Best meal so far at AURORA.  Table beside yacht on a mellow Turkish evening & great food.  Little more expensive than usual but well worth it!  Toilets & showers just about adequate but a lovely stop.

/07 : Zero wind but motored to DIRSEK & anchored with 2 lines ashore.  So beautiful & peaceful stayed all night & enjoyed home cooked curry plus cheese, biscuits & fruit.  Delicious as dusk fell the cicadas slowly quietened & the stars appeared.  Lesson for the kids on finding Polaris using the Plough constellation!  This is what a sailing holiday is all about!

/07 : Early morning swim for all followed by delicious breakfast. Stillness is palpable & colour of sea indescribable!  Motored to BOZBURUN with lunch anchored & line ashore @ North end of KIZIL ADASI.  Narrow passage but beautiful!  Excellent meal at OZMANS place with Turkish bread & dip on the house.  No need for starters.  Flavourful fillet steaks for all at very reasonable prices.  Good toilets & showers.  Highly Recommended!

/07 : Anchored N of ZEYTIN ADASI for swim & lunch followed by excellent sailing in SOGUT BAY & finally docked at OCTOPUS restaurant for evening.  Busy but great stop.  Kids in seventh heaven!  Another lovely meal although overcharged by 150TL.  Good food but check your bill!

/07 : Motored to beautiful cove for lunch & swim.  Sailed to LORYMA & anchored with 2 lines ashore.  Very windy & lumpy night.  Our least favourite night stop.  Had to waken yacht occupants beside us as their yacht almost on the rocks!  Abandoned their shoreline just in time!!  Good example of severe Katabatic winds!

/07 : Great sail for 1.5 hours eastbound & achieved 8.6 knots.  Wind died & very hot as we motored towards MARMARIS.  Stopped for lunch & swim in KADIRGA LIMANI.  HOT, hot, hot.  Last leg ahead to MARMARIS & finish!  Fuelled & berthed in Marmaris by 17:45 after an extremely enjoyable & memorable holiday.  IPOMEA performed flawlessly & a delight to sail.  Used only 71 litres in 8 days.

Thanks to Stef & Mark for all their help re luggage & having the yacht in immaculate order!  Deeply appreciated!
