Incredibly fun, adventurous, happy, hot 2 weeks on Honu, Cyclades 39
25 June – 9 July 2016
The Taylor family from Loch Lomond, Scotland sailed West from Marmaris. Read their comments:
Gerbeske: “Wild” moored here for the first night, safe, good mooring. Strong winds and swell from Marmaris so had to motor.
Sailors House Restaurant, Bozukkale, lovely. Very windy all night, great food. The following morning once we rounded the point, less swell.
Dirsek, busy but nice bay.
Selimye, Aurora Restaurant, Suzanne so friendly, fabulous dinner (not cheap but worth it). Boys had a lovely shave at barbers. Stocked up in Carrefour, Migros & supermarkets. Wind dropped the next day & had fun snorkelling of the boat.
Bencik, wild anchored, too many wasps was very thankful of the ‘Turkish coffee tip” ask Stef. Wind dropped so motored to Datca with a nice sail in the afternoon.
Datca, fun port, quite noisy & very busy.
Mesudiye & Oguns Place! Ogun was so welcoming – DEFINITELY worth the visit, very good food. Motored then sailed East again anchored off Datca peninsula. Saw a turtle & the boys swam with him. Saw 3 dolphins who swam under the bow of the boat.
Bozburun, Osmans Place, very nice (Scottish lady working there). Sailed West again, lovely sail & wild anchored opposite Orhaniye & had the beach/bay to ourselves.
Sailors Paradise, nice bay & restaurant, very busy though.
So many beautiful small bays to anchor in, best anchorage we swam at midnight – phospherence amazing.
Sailed back to Ciflik and Azmak restaurant, good again busy.
Last sad day onto Marmaris & the end of an incredibly fun, adventurous, happy, hot 2 weeks. THE BEST HOLIDAY EVER!
Thank you Mark & Stef for all the advise & help, Honu for taking the Taylors on a wonderful sailing holiday.
