We had 2 fabulous weeks of sailing, swimming and relaxing. We began & finished in Marmaris, went as far away as Datca and tied up or anchored many places in between.
We were made very welcome at Bozburun Yacht Club by their gracious owner & host, who took the boys out on the racing catamaran. They have the most lovely facility on the point, terraced gardens with many cozy places to sit & relax, lovely rooms, a yoga terrace and dining on the waterfront. It feels like a real yacht club of the old school variety, comfy & cozy & friendly (dinner was about twice the cost of other places, but worth it!)
Datca was a lovely place with lots shops and people out enjoying the evening along the waterfront. Alexander the Great would love to sell you a carpet! Culinarium was a lovely dinner spot, trying to be a little different form the regular fare. A very nicely designed space.
The family that runs Azmak in Ciflik is wonderful, very helpful on the dock & in the restaurant, food is good & plentiful. The bay is beautiful with its surrounding rocky cliffs and the little village past the big (empty?) hotel is picturesque. Great swimming too.
Stopped at Aurora, Sailors Paradise, Dirsek, lovely places to anchor out, a couple of unnamed coves at anchor for peace and quiet and endless swimming – occasionally disrupted by a Gullet anchoring right next to us. Also Bozburun town where another family fed us a great breakfast and did our laundry.
Lots of wind, lots of sun, great holiday.
