Last week James & 2 of his friends arrived in Marmaris on the Saturday night and enjoyed a meal at Pineapple Restaurant in Netsel Marina whilst planning their weeks itinerary. They were feeling adventurous and wanted to visit new places in the area.
An early start and they headed of to Bozzukale, enjoying some great sailing along the way. After mooring on the restaurant dock they decided to take a hike to the citadel and view Rhodes from the top of this look out point. They dined in the restaurant enjoying locally prepared mezes and fresh fish.
The following morning they headed for Knidos where they explored the ruins before going back down the coast to Palamut for the evening, dining at Semras restaurant opposite the small harbour.
Sailing back along the coast the next destination was Datca in order to complete customs ‘check out’ formalities ready to visit the Island of Simi the following day. They had already planned to eat in Culinaire Restaurant as this had been recommended and they were not disappointed with either with the food or the view over the harbour.
As Simi Town is a port of entry this was their first stop on the Island. They used an agent to ‘check in’ to Greece in order to maximise the time they could spend exploring this beautiful town. On leaving Simi Town they popped into various small bays before continuing on their way to Rhodos for another evening in Greece. They had plenty of time to wander around the Old Town of Rhodes taking in the spectacular scenery and stocking up on souvenirs.
As Rhodes is only 25nm from Marmaris they had a cracking sail back to the Port of Marmaris and after clearing customs headed back down to Kumlubuku for a last night feast at the Yacht Club.
With time to fill they went off to the local Turkish Baths for a relaxing afternoon before setting off to Dalaman for their flight home.
