Voyager – Oceanis 393
Our flight was delayed & we arrived at midnight. Stef & Mark met us at Netsel Marina with cheerful smiles & a great welcome. Next day we explored Voyager – Exceptional is all I can say!
We left Netsel uneventfully & headed for Ciflik. Great food at Rafat Baba, including WiFi, water & electric. Next day Stephanie took the boat out of the berth & unexpectedly had to perform a man overboard drill. Ian’s Tilley Hat had its own ideas about having a swim! The boat was very easy to man0euvre into reverse to stop & then quickly round to spot the helpless hat. Ian grabbed the boat hook & recovered the victim first time. Stephanie basked in the glory of a well executed drill for the rest of the day.
Next day saw us at Sogut. The Octopus Restaurant offers good food, WiFi, water & electric plus excellent help when coming in especially as it was very windy.
We booked Bozburun Yacht Club for a meal & spent a lovely day heading that way. Voyager sails beautifully & the two of us handled her with ease. We dropped anchor for a lunch time swim just inside Kizil ad. Bay. Bozburun Yacht Club was excellent. We spent a peaceful night on one of their mooring buoys. Food very good especially the mezes. (You can pay by card)
So here we are moored in paradise, Sailors Paradise Kocabahce. This is just the most beautiful secluded bay, great for swimming& snorkeling. Mehmet & his family will be thrilled to see you & will help you onto their pontoon. The food is excellent! Mooring buoys are available, Mehmet will come out to assist you. No electric or water on the pontoon. Bread, bottled water & nuts on sale. Pre-order the slow cooked lamb for a real treat. Highly recommended, (cash only)
We went to Ella Yacht Club, it is the second restaurant on the right. A rib came out to us with Ella Yacht Club written on it. The extremely friendly welcome included the most help we have ever had in Turkey. This place is a bit off the tourist trail & all the better for that. The calamari was excellent. Water & electric on the pontoon & free WiFi. Reasonable prices pay by card, bumpy if windy.
We ended our 3 weeks at Joya Del Mar as recommended by Stef. Great place to stay with excellent food. Note:there is not a shop here although they do plan to open one next year.
Its been brilliant thanks to Stef & Mark for everything.
