Day 1 - Arrive Netsel Marina, Marmaris

Meet the Sail in Turkey team and start your yacht charter. There is plenty to do in Marmaris from wandering around the old town, shopping in the bazaar or enjoying a quiet drink in the shade of one of the bars overlooking the marina whilst finalising your itinerary. We will give you briefings on your sail boat and detailed information about the Turkish islands. The supermarket in the marina is a good place to stock up with provisions for your sailing holiday. Alternatively you could sit around the marina pool and play your favourite card game!

Day 2 - Kumlubuku (6 nm)

gallery-small19.jpgThe perfect destination to begin your two week holiday, just 6nm from Marmaris giving you time to familiarise yourself with your sail boat. The Yacht Club offers excellent food, friendly staff, hot showers and a beautiful beach with plenty of large chill out cushions.

The owner is famous for his Chinese menu as well as the mouth watering Turkish menu and not to be missed is the 'Deep Fried Ice-cream' - an absolute must!!

Day 3 - Loryma (20 nm)

Loryma_small5.jpgThis is the place to drop your anchor and dive off your yacht into crystal clear waters. With a choice of 3 restaurants in the bay all serving simple Turkish island food and a citadel high on the hill to clamber up to, this is idyllic. On a clear day you will be able to see over to the Greek Island of Rhodes.

Day 4 - Bozburun (13 nm)

gallery-small8.jpgA busy harbour popular with Gulets, moor stern to the town quay on anchor and have a stroll along this pretty waterfront. With a choice of restaurants, bars, shops and a cash machine this is a good stopover to shop and restock your sail boat. For the men we recommend the barber here for a traditional Turkish shave.

There are several boatyards around Bozburun where you can see the Turkish 'Gulets' still being built.

Day 5 - Paradise Bay (10 nm)

paradisebay_small3.jpgMehmet Sengul and his family will welcome you to their restaurant in this tranquil bay as they hand you a lazy line on their wooden jetty. With plenty of fresh water from the mountain spring you can expect solar heated showers in this natural setting.

You may wish to put on your good walking shoes and wait for the day to cool down before trying to recapture this picture over the bay.

Day 6 - Orhaniye (8 nm)

Orhaniye_small4.jpgOrhaniye has something for everyone. Marti Marina has a small shop, fuel quay and fabulous toilet and showers facilities. Overlooking the marina is Mistral restaurant serving Turkish and Thai influenced food. It also has a swimming pool, bar and shaded chill out area.

If you prefer something more rustic them you can moor up on one of the restaurant jetties in the bay and take in the views.

For those that would like to have a splash in a fresh water spring the waterfall is a short journey inland from Orhaniye where you can relax and have lunch in one of the cool restaurants under the trees.

Day 7 - Dirsek (10 nm)

gallery-small11.jpgA beautiful bay with just one restaurant and friendly staff. Every night they offer a meze buffet and a selection of fresh fish or meat. The phosphorescence is amazing when you take a late night swim.

Put on your walking shoes and take the path up the hill to admire the wonderful views over the bay.

Day 8 - Ova Buku (22 nm)

ovabugu.jpgOgun's Place is hidden away in a quiet secluded sandy bay at Ova Buku on the Dat coast of Turkey. This family run restaurant serves delicious home-made food and Ogun loves providing evening entertainment for everyone.

Mountain bikes are available for hire to explore ashore.

Day 9 - Datca (10 nm)

datca.jpgSituated halfway along a mountainous pine-forested peninsular you will find the small harbour of Datca. The focus of this lively town is the waterfront lined with craft shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The amphitheatre at the far end of the harbour hosts live music during the summer months. The supermarkets will deliver provisions to your sail boat making shopping easy.

A few kilometres inland of the harbour is the village of old Datca, once occupied by Greeks until the citizen exchange of 1923. The houses built from honey coloured limestone surrounded by high garden walls covered with masses of bougainvillea make this a lovely place to wander.

Day 10 - Simi Town, Greece (13 nm)

gallery-small2.jpgA stark contrast in culture. This stunning town is unbelievably picturesque.

With pastel painted houses of the Venetian era surrounding the pretty harbour, fishing boats and little souvenir shops it is a wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by whilst sipping an iced coffee in one of the many waterfront cafes.

Day 11 - Panormitis, Greece (14 nm)

This natural harbour provides a quiet anchorage with views over the monastry which is still home to monks. The turquoise waters are great for a swim and a peaceful overnight stop.

Ashore you can visit the small church in the monastery lit with candles.

Day 12 - Niseros, Greece (17 nm)

niseros.jpgPalion is a quaint Greek village with a few restaurants, shops and a bakery. There is a regular bus service that will take you on a short, very scenic route to the volcano. You can clamber down into the crater which is still extremely hot in places; a wander around the village above will give fantastic views of the volcano and the Islands surrounding Niseros.

Day 13 - Rhodes, Greece (52 nm)

rhodes.jpgAnother stunning place to visit! You will see Rhodes is steeped in history as you weave through the tiny cobbled streets of the Old Town. The real charm of this place is at night with the small twinkling lights and relaxed atmosphere in the squares.

With a long stretch of beach, a massive choice of tavernas, cafes & bars, shops and even a Casino there is much to do and see here.

Day 14 - Return to Marmaris (25 nm)

Time to enjoy another great day sailing in Turkey and stop for a swim in one of the bays on the way. We will be waiting to take your lines and looking forward to hearing your adventures and tales.

Day 15 - Departure Day

Why not make the most of your last day. Leave early morning and travel to the Dalyan River, then take a boat and motor up the river to the ancient ruins of Caunos. Enjoy a lunch and a swim before continuing your journey to Dalaman, refreshed and ready for the flight home.
